Fried Chickpeas

1 can Chickpeas
1/4 cup flour
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp cayanne pepper for a bit of a kick (optional)
1 tsp Italian Seasoning (optional)

Heat oil on medium heat (or just above medium).

Take chickpeas and drain can. Mix flour with other dry ingredients and then add the chickpeas.

Once evenly covered, fry the chickpeas for ~4min or until slightly golden brown.

They were so good. You can dust with garlic powder or garlic salt. I think adding basil could also make for a really delicious alternative. Doing salt and vinegar wouldn’t be a bad rendition either.

They are a lot like fries, but instead of potatoes which are mostly starch and empty calories, garbanzo beans have protein and a lot of other good nutritious stuff!
